What the client needed
The Council wanted to identify and implement new strategies for achieving efficiency targets within Social Service Teams. Our goal was to motivate team managers to engage with the transformation process and to help identify relevant change strategies and processes.
What we did
We used a workshop mentoring process to engage frontline managers and to help them identify the latent potential within their teams, their own wealth of experience and the potential for change.
What the benefits were
- The E-business unit were able to take a back seat as the managers were keen to drive change
- Frontline managers became proactive in developing a support network, discussion forum and a communication model for the organisation
- Frontline managers felt valued by the organisation and understood that their opinions were important
- Frontline managers and the organisation recognised the manager’s expertise in service delivery
“The managers are queuing up to be part of this process now, whereas a year ago they would not have gone near it” – Peter Manning, E-business Manager, East Sussex County Council
