Bedfordshire Police - Adoption of BlackBerrys
Bedfordshire Police are in the process of rolling out BlackBerrys to all frontline officers. We have been involved since the project's initial conception engaging with frontline and organisational stakeholders to help maximise the benefits. We have conducted scoping studies, awareness training, benefits analysis and are doing ongoing benefits realisation work. Device take up currently stands at approximately 90% - a very high level for a police mobile implementation. This project won the 'Public Sector IT Project of the Year 2008' at the Techworld Awards.
Derbyshire Social Services - ESCR benefits realisation
Derbyshire Social Services had introduced the Electronic Social Care Record (ESCR) and wanted to conduct an independent review of how effectively the new system was embedded into work culture and work practice. C-innovate conducted an independent review of the success factors and barriers to the effective use of the electronic system by operational staff. The review involved gathering feedback from operational and non operational staff on the changes that had resulted from electronic working, levels of commitment to electronic working and making recommendations about how to foster user commitment.
Corelogic Ltd - Enhancing usability of software for Social Services
Corelogic have engaged us to conduct usability testing of their latest generation Social Work software. Following a user-centred iterative design methodology we have been testing the system with social workers at various sites around London. The approach is assisting Corelogic to develop a highly usable system and to help differentiate their product in the competitive social care domain.
British Transport Police - mobile computing implementation planning and benefits analysis
BTP have recently delivered a mobile computing system to officers working on the London Underground. We conducted a scoping study to assess the officers' attitudes and needs in relation to the project, providing recommendations on how best to achieve a successful implementation. We also performed a detailed quantitative benefits analysis, which illustrated that the system can improve officer's visibility (time on patrol) by approximately 45 minutes per shift.
OLM - Assessing and enabling readiness for change
We are currently working with OLM and Wolverhampton City Council to prepare stakeholders for the implementation of a new electronic system and the introduction of ESCR & business change efficiency strategies.
London Ambulance - Ensuring a move to a new system enhances efficiency and safety
London Ambulance were interested in assessing the potential benefits and challenges associated with an upgrade to their command and control system. We observed and interviewed a cross-section of staff in the control room, providing an independent objective view of the impact the project would have on the users.
Bradford Social Services - Re-engaging Children Service Staff to improve attitudes to ICS
Bradford Social Services were in the process of rolling out e-Files & ICS in Children's Services and needed to improve frontline staff buy-in and develop a stakeholder engagement strategy. We ran workshops for a cross section of stakeholders and helped to identify effective communication and support strategies to promote user commitment to electronic working and underpin the change process.
Gloucestershire Social Services - A reusable framework to measure social worker attitudes to electronic working
Gloucestershire County Council engaged us to develop a method for measuring how successfully the Electronic Social Care Record was being embedded into work practice. Through reviewing the literature and conducting a consultation exercise with frontline staff we created a reusable methodology that focused on the four key areas associated with system embedding: work performance, job satisfaction, system design and organisational support.
